City of Myrkesh is a deckbuilding game with a unique city traversal mechanic. Starting with a deck of ten cards, you and your opponents will travel around the city of Myrkesh to recruit powerful allies from five distinct districts to defeat a voracious monster wreaking havoc. The cards players can recruit will change depending on where their player piece is positioned on the board, offering a constantly changing market row. With each card only showing up once and many play styles to explore, City of Myrkesh offers players a highly dynamic and replayable experience. Will you seek to gain as many allies as possible to win the late game, attack the monster early before your opponents can develop a proper strategy, or control your opponents with debuffs and tricky politics to keep them behind? In the City of Myrkesh, prestige is yours for the taking!
When you align with the Wilds, you embrace some of the best power generating effects, the ability to discount cards based on how much damage you inflict, enrage your opponents to stifle their power, and rapidly remove starter cards from your deck.
When you align with the Industrial Grounds, you synchronize with the best card draw effects and the ability to remove starter cards from your deck. You will also be able to manipulate the hand sizes of any player, increasing yours or decreasing your opponents'.
When you align with the Merchant's Row, you barter with some of the best coin generating effects in the game, the ability to gain bonus power or speed from buying certain cards, and being able to buy cards from other player’s spaces.
When you align with the Undercity, you connive with some of the best speed generating effects and the ability to convert speed into the other two resources. You’ll be able to attack from another player’s space, and be able to steal prestige from your opponent’s by buying certain cards.
When you align with the Royal Courts, you wield the authority to gain noble prestige from buying certain cards, the ability to tax your opponents to slow their buying, and protect yourself from your opponents’ disruption with shields.
